There is Another Way!
Thousands of us signed petitions saying we would love a path through the ComEd greenways. When we signed, there was never an intention to go through the neighborhoods or even down Route 53 with the East Branch DuPage River (bike) Trail (EBDRT).
One of our neighbors has an education in civil engineering plus experience in working with ComEd. He is proposing a viable new alignment closer to the original plan.

DuPage County’s proposed East Branch DuPage River Bike Trail (EBDRT) has moved from the ComEd greenways. One alignment runs through existing neighborhoods, builds a dangerous bridge at Westfield school, and removes thousands of trees along with our privacy and security.
This plan is being acted on without notifying the neighborhoods.Through hundreds of emails and phone conversations with public officials, it seems that the DuPage County Division of Transportation is driving the decisions. (Get the full story here). County planners have declined offers to speak publicly at Westfield School.
Please call to share your concerns before $1.5 million in taxpayer dollars are spent on an engineering plan.
Let’s work together to influence a better way.

Directly Share Concerns with the Folks in Charge
No one on the Bike 53 committee is against the East Branch DuPage River [Bike] Trail. Planning is moving forward though DuPage County is yet to hear from the neighbors who are most concerned. Together we should ardently advocate for a beneficial alignment which makes improvements along Rt. 53, rather than DuPage County’s preferred trail alignment that disrupts our neighborhoods.
