Bike 53 will continue to share news on the East Branch DuPage River [Bike] Trail as this debate continues. We will hold public meetings to build awareness of the dangers to our families and homes.
Our volunteers hope to sway DuPage County and governing bodies to an alternate trail alignment along Route 53. Together we can make the road less dangerous, keep our neighborhoods private, and create a safer place for our children to walk and ride.

PAST SUCCESS WITH NIFTI
Over twenty years ago, IDoT attempted to expand Route 53 to five lanes. Some of our members were part of NIFTI; a group supporting 3 lanes, not 5. NIFTI partnered with the neighborhoods, DuPage County and, with the help of Dan Cronin, halted the expansion. Bike 53 believes similar tactics can save our neighborhooods again.
